I lead the Education and Learning team at Wellcome. For the last 30 years Wellcome has been committed to ensuring that high-quality science education is available to all young people and has supported and worked within the formal and informal science education sectors. My specific area of interest is the enablers and barriers to teachers' participation in career-long, high-quality, subject-specific professional development. Although I now work outside the classroom, for over seventeen years I was a teacher and was privileged to teach in both primary and in secondary schools.
